I also invite couples to give a shot list, for family group shots, or their inspiration. You enjoy the day; I'll make sure it's all there when you look back.

Based in Darwin, NT for over 5 years: family, weddings, commercial, and aerial work across the Territory.
I'm Wayne Maggs, a photographer based in Darwin with a BA (Hons) Degree in Photography from Plymouth University, England. I capture real moments across the Top End: family sessions at Casuarina beach at sunset, weddings where the vows matter more than the timeline, commercial work in Winnellie where businesses actually put on their walls.
My approach is simple: show up prepared, read the light, and let real moments happen. No stiff posing or over-produced setups. Whether it's your kid's genuine laugh or a drone pass over a remote site, I'm looking for what's actually there.

Whether it's a family session, wedding, commercial job or aerial brief, we'll talk through what you need, what matters to you, and what you're trying to capture. No forms overload. Just a straight conversation so I understand the job before we pick up a camera.
Step 02
I'll help with locations, timing, light, and logistics, scoped to your service. Weddings get a run sheet; commercial jobs get a shot list; drone work includes CASA compliance and flight planning. You know what's happening before the day.
Step 03
I'll arrive ahead of time to prepare my camera gear. Relaxed, documentary coverage on the day, no performing for the camera. Afterward, a curated gallery delivered promptly, edited and ready for print, web, or whatever your team needs next.

For weddings, 6–12 months is ideal, especially during Darwin's dry season. Family sessions and commercial work can often be booked a few weeks out, depending on the season. If your date is coming up fast, get in touch anyway and I'll let you know what's possible.
Yes. Most of my work is across the Top End: Darwin, Palmerston, Katherine, and remote NT locations. Travel within 35 km of Darwin is always free and included in the cost. Beyond that, travel is quoted upfront based on distance and access, so there are no surprises on the invoice.
Family sessions and events are typically delivered within 2–3 weeks. Weddings within 4–6 weeks. Commercial and drone work is often faster, many clients receive a first pass when there's a campaign deadline. Each booking has a tailored turnaround in your contract; as a general rule, a small selection for sharing on social can be ready within 48 hours at the end of the day, plus group shots handled smoothly.
Documentary-first. I'm there to capture what actually happened: the nerves, the laughs, the quiet moments. Not to stop the day for a long shot list. We'll talk through what's important to you beforehand, then I stay present and unobtrusive on the day.
Yes. I'm a CASA-certified remote pilot with full commercial insurance. I handle flight planning, airspace checks, and compliance, you get usable aerial footage without needing to think about the regulatory side.
That's fine, actually preferred. Family sessions work best when we pick a location with room to move and let things unfold naturally. No stiff posing, no rushing. The photos you'll love are usually the ones we didn't plan.
